Twana is the daughter of Rev. Rosa and the late

Napoleon Harris. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana,

She is the product of Washington Township Schools.  She received a

Bachelor of Music Education with emphasis in Vocal Performance from

Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri, as well as a Masters of Divinity from

Christian Theological Seminary (CTS) in Indianapolis.  She completed a Doctor of Ministry degree in the field

of Practical Theology- Preaching in May of 2010.  Twana also contributed to the seminary community as the director of the CTS Gospel Choir and professor of preaching.

Twana has served as a choral director/minister of music since the age of ten.  As a music educator, she has taught at the elementary and high school levels. From 2004-2014 she served as the Artist-in Residence for the Black Voices of Inspiration on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.  A dynamic composer, Twana has a growing catalogue of music and Christian dramatic plays and musical productions.  She is the founder of Vision Ministries: a creative arts group consisting of dancers, singers, actors, and musicians, who create faith based artistic productions.  The goal of her artistic expression is to challenge people to think critically about their faith and experience higher heights and deeper depths of God's loving presence.

Along with her passion for teaching, Twana is committed to worship and preaching.  Her experience in ministerial leadership is rooted in the United Methodist Church, but spans several denominations. In each ministry context she worked with youth/young adults, women, dance ministries, music departments and effectively preached the Word of God.  Twana is an Ordained Elder in Full Connection in the Mighty Thriving Third Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME).  She has pastored Stewart Memorial in Indianapolis, Indiana, and presently serves as the Senior Servant of Carter Metropolitan in Detroit, Michigan.

Her unique, lively, and spirit-filled interpretation of the Gospel has made her a sought after worship leader, workshop facilitator, and preacher.  She desires to help the Gospel make sense to hearers of every age, background, gender, and ethnicity.
